“A brighter future for your child”
During our 17 year history we have developed a wealth of experience in caring for children. Learning opportunities occur throughout the nursery from the children’s rooms that include our library and conference facility to the sensory and dining room. We provide fresh and healthy meals in our purpose built kitchen prepared by our own experienced nursery chef. Children flourish within our secure and stimulating gardens.
We are an established independent day nursery. We cater for up to 18 unique little people.
Andy & Kate Garner are the directors, both qualified ’Early years professionals’, managing the nursery’s daily routine. Each room is lead by fully competent and proficient seniors. Our practitioners are qualified and are supported by assistants who are working towards qualified status.
We are extremely privileged to be surrounded by an inspiring and wonderful rural setting. Our children gain much enjoyment through exploring nearby woods, farms and the local community strengthening and enhancing their development.
The history of the Cider House
We are often asked where the name originated for our building and nursery. Well in 1903 Lady Emily Smyth, wife of Sir Greville Smyth, provided six hectares of land specifically for the creation of the National Institute of Fruit and Cider (NIFC).The research conducted at The Cider House has always been world class, with some very familiar developments along the way. When oranges became scarce during the Second World War the British government turned to the Long Ashton scientists to discover an alternative home grown source of vitamin C. Their response was a blackcurrent drink sold the world over; Ribena.
Apple Tree Day Care Nursery recognises the valuable role that children contribute to society.
Our aim is to enhance and develop the whole child through play, learning experiences and education.
We look to recognise the individual qualities evident in each child and valuing their contributions, ensuring that all members of staff at Apple Tree Day Care Nursery identifies, encourages, reinforces, develops and monitors each child’s right to equality of opportunity.
We are committed to providing a positive, stimulating and safe environment delivered by a committed team of early years professionals.
